A specimen behind museum glass is not diminished by the case. It is completed by it. The pedestal, the light, the quiet frame — these tell the eye that here is something worth attention.
Modernist architects understood the same principle at the scale of a room: that emptiness around an object is not waste but emphasis. A single considered thing, well placed, does more than a shelf of many.
